Australian robot vacuums and mops

Clean the floor.
Not the spec sheet.

Match the cleaner to your floors, pets, clutter and maintenance tolerance.

Robot vacuum finder · about 2 minutes

Tell us about the home.

We rank floor fit, pet hair, obstacles, mopping, maintenance and price.

01 · Home size

No robot uses stairs. Extra levels usually mean carrying it or buying another unit.

02 · Floor mix
03 · Pets and long hair

Anti-tangle brush design matters more than a larger suction number when hair wraps the roller.

04 · Children and floor clutter
Object avoidance reduces rescues; it does not guarantee the robot will avoid every cable, spill or pet accident.
05 · How important is mopping?

Roller mops continuously remove dirty water and suit tracked-in mess. Spinning pads scrub well, but can spread dirty water for longer.

06 · Doorways and furniture
07 · Dock and maintenance

Even “hands-off” docks need dirty-water emptying, tray cleaning, dust bags and approved solution.

08 · Cameras and privacy

Camera avoidance can recognise more objects, but adds privacy considerations. Review remote-view, cloud and AI-training settings.

09 · Equipment budget

Recommendations use the lower observed Australian sale price as a planning guide, not a promise that the sale will return.

Buying basics

What matters beyond suction

Open guide +

Carpet versus hard floors

Brush contact, airflow and hair resistance decide carpet results. Hard floors reward good edge pickup and a mop that manages dirty water.

Spinning pads versus rollers

Spinning pads scrub; rollers continuously lift dirty water and are better for tracked-in mud. Neither replaces occasional manual deep cleaning.

Kids, pets and cables

Camera and 3D systems avoid more objects, but every robot can eat a cable or smear an undetected accident. Floor preparation still matters.

Thresholds and split levels

Measure the tallest doorway. No robot climbs stairs, and most need to be carried between levels, often without access to the wash dock.

Dock maintenance

Auto-empty is not no-maintenance. Empty dirty water, refill clean water, wash the tray, change bags and keep sensors and rollers clean.

Camera privacy

Vision can materially improve avoidance. If a roaming indoor camera is unacceptable, use the finder’s hard camera exclusion.
